Excavator driver killed after machine flips in Jelebu

JELEBU: A 31-year-old excavator driver was killed when the machine crushed him after it suddenly flipped on its side while going uphill.

Jelebu OCPD Supt Azizan Said said the victim is a foreigner and added that he died on the spot in Kampung Ulu Jelebu on Tuesday (Oct 7) evening.

“Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased was clearing land at a smallholding when the mishap happened,” he said.

“He failed to control the machine while driving uphill, causing it to flip and crush him,” added Supt Azizan.

Supt Azizan said an autopsy on Wednesday (Oct 8) found the cause of death to be “multiple injuries due to industrial accident.”

He urged eyewitnesses to contact any police station or call Investigating Officer Sub‑Inspector Abas Mohamed at 010‑864 9229.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
