PETALING JAYA: Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has confirmed that he will face Bersatu’s disciplinary board on Wednesday (Oct 8).

The Bersatu supreme council member said he was already at the party headquarters here to meet the board.

“My slot is at 5pm. I am already at the headquarters with others who have been called today,” he told The Star when contacted.

He, however, declined to reveal the names of other Bersatu leaders who have also been summoned.

It is learnt that among those called up are Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Ipoh Timor division chief Muhammad Fadhli Ismail, Ampang division chief Mohd Isa Saidi, and Pendang division chief Abdul Razak Khamis.

The leaders are expected to be investigated over several allegations, including the collection of statutory declarations (SDs) purportedly aimed at unseating party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

They are alleged to have gathered SDs from Bersatu division chiefs nationwide to propose a leadership transition to deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

On Sept 25, the disciplinary board postponed proceedings involving several party leaders over the SD issue due to an insufficient quorum following the absence of a panel member.

Four days later, on Sept 29, Wan Saiful held a press conference denying allegations that SDs were collected to oust Muhyiddin.

He also said he would refer both party secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz to the disciplinary board for allegedly threatening division leaders, said to be linked to the supposed plot against Muhyiddin.

Wan Saiful further claimed that Azmin should not remain in a party leadership position as long as the controversy surrounding a sexually explicit video allegedly involving him remains unresolved.
