Selangor Ruler conveys relief at safe return of 23 Malaysian Global Sumud Flotilla volunteers

KLANG: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has conveyed his relief and thanked Allah for the safe return of the 23 Sumud Nusantara Malaysia activists who had joined the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) to render aid to the people of Gaza.

A statement issued by Istana Alam Shah on Wednesday (Oct 8) said Sultan Sharafuddin had closely followed the movement of the flotilla.

It added the Ruler was concerned about the fate of the activists when they were detained by Israel's Zionist regime in international waters when the vessel was heading to Gaza.

"His Highness is highly appreciative and impressed with the efforts and initiative shown by the 23 Malaysian activists as well as everyone involved in helping the Palestinian people through GSF missions.

"His Highness also thanks Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who managed to obtain the immediate release of all the Malaysian activists with the cooperation of the Turkiye government," said the statement.

It added that as a reference point and guideline for Malaysians, Sultan Sharafuddin suggested that the 23 activists write and combine their experience, throughout the incident, in a book, especially their experiences during their detention by the Zionist regime.

Although the humanitarian aid was not delivered to the people of Gaza, Sultan Sharafuddin hoped that GSF's efforts will continue to highlight to the world and create awareness about the discrimination and cruelty inflicted upon the people there by the Isreali Zionist regime.
