PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has revoked Mohd Isa Abdul Samad's (pic) Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota award, stripping his ‘Tan Sri’ title.

In a statement on Thursday (June 11), the Prime Minister's Department announced that the revocation was effective on June 8.

Mohd Isa is currently serving a prison sentence at Sungai Buloh Prison, Selangor.

The statement said that the removal complies with Paragraphs XXV and XXVIA of the Darjah Yang Mulia Setia Mahkota Malaysia Statute. The rules allow revocation following a criminal conviction.

It also said that the action aligns with Sultan Ibrahim's royal decree delivered on September 7, 2024. The decree occurred during a federal awards ceremony at Istana Negara.
