Kadzim reappointed as Speaker


KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M. Yahya has been reappointed for a second five-year term.

He received the instrument of appointment from Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu here yesterday.

After taking the oath before Musa, Kadzim signed the document and the ceremony was witnessed by Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Azizah Nawawi.

The ceremony was also attended by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, state Cabinet ministers, assistant ministers and senior state civil servants.

Kadzim, a lawyer by training and former senator, was first appointed as Speaker on Oct 1, 2020, after Gabungan Rakyat Sabah formed the government following the state election.
