Four women nabbed at budget hotel suspected of offering on-call sex services

JOHOR BARU: Four foreign women were detained for allegedly immoral activities during an operation code-named Ops Gegar at 4pm on Sept 4.

Johor Immigration Department director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said they were apprehended at a budget hotel in Kebun Teh near here.

“The operation was conducted following complaints received from the public and our intelligence surveillance,’’ he said in a statement.

Mohd Rusdi said those detained were a Filipino and three Laotians aged between 20 and 39 years. They have been placed at the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot to assist with investigations.

He added that the budget hotel was found to have offered sex activities via the Telegram messaging app, charging RM230 for each session.

Mohd Rusdi said the detainees have committed offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

“We also issued a notice of summons to the premise operator during the inspection to assist with the investigation,’’ he said.
