BUTTERWORTH: The Finance Ministry is working with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to ensure all technical issues related to the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) programme are resolved before it is officially implemented on Tuesday (Sept 30).
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said the ministry had received several complaints from the public claiming they were not listed as eligible recipients despite having a valid driving licence and MyKad.
"The ministry is currently discussing with JPJ and we will resolve this technical issue as soon as possible before Sept 30," she told reporters after inspecting the implementation of Budi95 involving recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) at a petrol station on Jalan Raja Uda here on Sunday (Sept 28).
Lim said these were isolated cases but the ministry was taking the matter seriously and assured that the problem would be resolved before the full implementation of Budi95 on Tuesday.
She urged the public to check their eligibility on the website www.budimadani.gov.my and those who encounter problems can file a complaint to enable immediate investigation.
The public can also contact the hotline 1-300 88 9595 and provide their details for verification and follow-up action.
"As long as the individual is an eligible Malaysian, they are 100% entitled to enjoy Budi95.
Lim also said there was no need to rush as each eligible individual has an entitlement of 300 litres of petrol per month, which can be used at any time according to their needs.
Earlier, she said that the implementation of Budi95 involving STR recipients, the second group to enjoy the initiative starting on Sunday, was proceeding smoothly nationwide without any complaints received.
"We have already tried various methods, namely the Setel (Petronas) application, cash and the Touch 'n Go e-wallet and everything went smoothly," said Lim.
The Finance Ministry said that since Sept 25, a total of 8.1 million users have checked their eligibility via the official website www.budimadani.gov.my. – Bernama
