Anwar commends Communications Ministry over clear, effective explanation of Budi95 rollout

PUTRAJAYA: The Communications Ministry’s rollout and public communication of the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) initiative is among the government’s most successful efforts in explaining policies to the public, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In praising the effort, the Prime Minister said the clear and effective explanation of the initiative had helped improve public understanding and reduce confusion over the implementation of Budi95.

“In relation to the Budi95 initiative, I believe this is the ministry’s greatest success, where clear explanations are provided and it does not create many problems.

“Once again, I congratulate our colleagues, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil (Communications Minister), the secretary-general (Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah) and the entire ministry for their dedication in conveying information effectively to the people,” he said during the Communications Ministry's monthly assembly on Monday (June 8).

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said that despite a small number of parties raising concerns over fuel price increases, the implementation of Budi95 had demonstrated that effective communication could improve public acceptance of government policies.

“I understand that there are still some voices raising other concerns. But this is something we are very proud of and a highly effective effort by the ministry in reaching out to the people.”
