The officer, who had just reported for duty last week, was detained by police at his residence on Tuesday (Sept 23).

An inspection of the premises then led to the discovery of substances suspected to be drugs.

The MACC said the case has been handed over entirely to the police for further investigation, and pledged its full cooperation.

"The commission will not tolerate any misconduct, breach of the law, or criminal acts by any of its officers or staff.

"We are committed to upholding integrity and good governance at all times

The commission added that it remains firm in ensuring its personnel maintain the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
