Teens put on good behaviour bond for slapping classmate

KAJANG: Two 13-year-old boys have been ordered to be placed on a one-year good behaviour bond for slapping their classmate at a shopping mall two months ago.

Lawyer Lee Tee Kiat, representing the two Form One students, said Magistrate Fatin Dayana Jalil made the order on Thursday (Sept 18) after examining the students' probationary reports submitted by the Social Welfare Department.

"The court also maintained the RM500 bail imposed on each student,” Lee told reporters when met after the proceedings.

Since the boys, who were accompanied by their parents, are minor offenders, the proceeding was held in camera.

They pleaded guilty to the charge, framed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 and read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, on Aug 8.

Sentencing was then set for today.

The two boys were jointly charged with behaving indecently by slapping their classmate in a public place to disturb the peace at a shopping mall near here at 11am on July 30. – Bernama
