Cops seek public help to identify tattooed body found on Miri beach


KUCHING: Miri police are seeking public assistance to identify a man whose body was found on the shoreline near Kampung Bakam on Sunday (Sept 14).

Miri OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the man, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, had no identification documents on him.

"The body had tattoos on the left arm, right arm and back. The man was confirmed dead by a medical assistant," he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 15).

He said the body has been sent to the Miri Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

The case is being investigated as a sudden death.

Those with missing family members are urged to contact Tanjung Lobang Police Station chief Sergeant Malina Kilat at 011-12017034, Tanjung Lobang Police Station at 085-437290, or proceed to the nearest police station to assist with identification. — Bernama
