KOTA BARU: A section of Federal Route FT008 (from Section 348.10 to 350.20), which connects Gua Musang to Kota Bharu, has been fully closed to all vehicles since Sunday (Sept 14) until further notice.
In a statement on Monday (Sept 15), the Machang Public Works Department (JKR) confirmed that the two-way closure was due to the deteriorating condition of the road, which has developed severe cracks caused by a sinkhole.
"The closure has been implemented to prevent any potential incidents.
"Notification signs will be placed at the site to guide motorists,” the statement read.
Motorists are strongly advised to use alternative, safer routes for the duration of the closure and to observe all directional and safety signs provided.
