Form Two boy allegedly assaulted, bullied by seniors

KOTA KINABALU: A Form Two boy is believed to have been kicked, slapped and punched by a Form Four student because he returned late to his dormitory room one night last week.

The boy’s mother said he was also forced to iron a Form Three student’s uniform in the dormitory in Limauan Kinarut.

Her lawyer Nurshalilah Fauzan Mailin said a police report was lodged on Sept 9 at the Papar police station and thereafter at the Kota Kinabalu police station yesterday.

“Based on what my client told me, her son was kicked in the stomach, slapped and punched in the nose by a Form Four student until he got hurt,” she said about the alleged assault on Sept 7.

“He claimed that a Form Three student forced him to iron his clothes that same night,” she said.

Nurshalilah said a teacher told the boy’s mother about the incidents and she had lodged a report thereafter.

“We believe police in Papar are looking into this case after the first report was lodged but we think there are efforts to coax my client to solve this matter amicably outside.”

She said her client feels if this case is solved outside, incidents of bullying would continue without the bullies having to face legal consequences.

Nurshalilah said the victim’s family wants this case to be addressed accordingly and strictly to prevent bullying from worsening.
