Form Two student allegedly assaulted by seniors in Kinarut school

KOTA KINABALU: A Form Two student is believed to have been kicked, slapped and punched by a Form Four student and made to iron a Form Three student’s uniform in Limauan, Kinarut.

According to the boy’s mother, her son was allegedly attacked because he was late to get back to his dorm room on Sunday (Sept 7) night.

Her lawyer Nurshalilah Fauzan Mailin said that a police report was lodged on Sept 9 at the Papar police station and thereafter, at the Kota Kinabalu Police Station on Saturday (Sept 13).

"Based on what my client told me, her son was kicked in the stomach, slapped and punched in the nose by a Form Four student until he got hurt,” she said.

"He claimed that a Form Three student forced him to iron his clothes that same night," she said.

Nurshalilah said a teacher told the boy’s mother about the incidents and she had lodged a report thereafter.

"We believe police in Papar are looking into this case after the first report was lodged but we think there are efforts to coax my client to solve this matter outside amicably," she said.

She said her client feels that if this case is solved outside, incidents of bullying would continue without the bullies having to face legal consequences.

Nurshalilah said the victim’s family wants this case to be addressed accordingly and strictly to prevent bullying from worsening.
