Asia ESG Summit is the meeting point for people shaping our green future

IN today’s fast-changing world of sustainability, who you know can be just as important as what you know. The Asia ESG Summit 2025 is the place to meet the people shaping Asia’s green future, including Bursa Malaysia Bhd group sustainability director Dr Hezri Adnan.

Hezri will lead a vital session titled “Financing the Green Transition: CFOs and CSOs Collaborating to Drive Sustainability and Profitability”, exploring how senior finance and sustainability professionals are joining forces to embed ESG (environmental, social and governance) principles into business strategy, while aligning their priorities to foster compliance and genuine, long-term value.

But the summit isn’t just about listening. From Nov 5-7 at the Sunway Resort Hotel, attendees will have opportunities to connect with policymakers, investors, corporate executives and sustainability experts from across Asia and beyond.

The relationships participants build here could be the starting point for new ideas and partnerships that drive real change.

Joining Hezri to share their expertise will be notable figures such as United Nations environment programme finance initiative global policy co-lead Laura Canas da Costa, who will discuss enabling environments for ESG integration across Asean.

Meanwhile, Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM) Council chairman Dr Gary Theseira will lead the session on “Outlook for Asia: Driving Green Finance for a Sustainable Future”.

He will explore how Asia can accelerate the adoption of green finance by harmonising standards, addressing data gaps, combating greenwashing and creating effective incentives.

His insights will focus on empowering firms to meet ambitious climate targets while advancing sustainable development across the region.

To help delegates navigate the wealth of content, the summit offers three thematic streams:

> Responsible investment and circular economy: This stream explores ESG-driven finance, carbon pricing and circular business models.

> Climate and value chain decarbonisation: This stream addresses Scope 3 emissions, data strategies and industry case studies.

> Innovative cleantech and sustainable change: This stream showcases cutting-edge technologies, product demos and investor or startup engagement.

These discussions highlight the summit’s main goal: bringing together different industries and countries to encourage practical collaboration.

Whether participants are business leaders working to integrate ESG into operations, investors exploring new opportunities, or policymakers focused on aligning standards, the Asia ESG Summit provides a space to build valuable connections.

This year’s summit also marks the inaugural gathering of the Asia ESG Positive Impact Consortium (A-EPIC) – a collaborative effort led by Star Media Group, Indonesia’s KG Media and the Philippines’ Inquirer Group of Companies – which reflects the shared commitment of regional media leaders to championing sustainable progress across Asia.

Organised by SMG, with Sime Darby Property Bhd as the Urban Biodiversity Partner, the summit offers opportunities to engage with thought leaders and decision-makers shaping the region’s sustainable future.

Join a growing community committed to building inclusive, resilient and environmentally responsible economies.
