Bangladeshi man killed by lightning at Raub project site


KUANTAN: A Bangladeshi man was killed, believed to have been struck by lightning, near a project site in Kuala Atok, Sega, Dong, Raub on Monday (Sept 8).

Raub OCPD Supt Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman said the police were informed of the incident that befell the victim, identified as Md Shahangir, 37, at 7.30pm.

"Initial investigations found that the victim, who lives in Kuala Lumpur, had come to visit his younger brother, who works at the project site and lives in a workers' quarters there. The victim is believed to have been struck by lightning while looking for his brother near the project site," he said in a statement.

He said the man was taken to the Benta Health Clinic, Kuala Lipis, where he was pronounced dead. - Bernama
