Cops receive report on Bersatu AGM scuffle

SHAH ALAM: A police report on the fight that broke out during the Bersatu AGM on Saturday (Sept 6) has been lodged.

When contacted Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said that a report on the incident was received at 12.18am on Sunday.

The complainant, who was on duty as security during the meeting, said in his report that he was pulled from behind, resulting in him falling to the ground during the scuffle.

"The complainant and others there suffered no injuries, and there was no loss of property as well," he said.

He added that the incident is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code.

On Saturday, a scuffle broke out at the end of Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's speech.

Security personnel attempted to calm things down, but a scuffle broke out shortly after.

Some delegates had begun standing on chairs and shouting, while others attempted to block the press from getting footage of the incident.

As this was happening, some delegates began shouting "long live Tan Sri", while others staged a walkout of the hall.

Before the AGM, there was talk of statutory declarations from division leaders calling for Muhyiddin to step down as president.
