The reward for information on the brutal skinning of a female dog named Biao Mei in Melaka has been raised to RM101,100, China Press reported.

The amount, said to be the highest bounty ever offered in Malaysia, was raised through public donations.

Gruesome photographs and video clips of Biao Mei after she was skinned alive were first posted on social media on Aug 16.

The stray was rushed to a veterinary clinic, where she was euthanised due to severe infection and the extent of her injuries.

Following this, an initial reward of RM51,100 was offered to help bring those responsible to justice.

On Thursday, several animal rescue groups also submitted a memorandum to Istana Negara, seeking the attention of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.

> A tussle over the air-conditioning temperature broke out between North Korean and Russian officials shortly before their leaders met for talks in China, Sin Chew Online reported.

Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin were in Beijing to attend China’s Victory Day parade.

Shortly before their meeting, a North Korean aide approached a wall-mounted control panel to raise the temperature to 23°C.

A Russian aide quickly intervened, insisting it remain at 20°C, but the North Korean official refused to back down.

Both were then seen prising each other’s fingers off the panel before the North Korean aide eventually gave way.

The Russian aide then readjusted the setting and stood guard at the panel.
