Malaysians can begin using RM100 Sara aid on MyKad from Aug 31


PUTRAJAYA: The RM100 one-off Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) assistance for every Malaysian citizen aged 18 and above through MyKad will be channelled on Aug 31.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Madani government spokesman, said recipients could spend the aid at 4,500 selected shops nationwide from Aug 31 to Dec 31, 2025.

"I am pleased to remind that on Aug 31, the Sara programme for all will begin, where every adult Malaysian citizen will receive RM100 credited into their MyKad," he said at the post-Cabinet meeting press conference here on Friday (Aug 29).

He also urged all eligible citizens to check through the official Sara portal, or the official MyKasih website, opened on Aug 21.

"This is a good opportunity for everyone aged 18 and above to check their balance and make use of it," he said.

On July 23, the Prime Minister announced the RM100 one-off contribution for every adult Malaysian citizen aged 18 and above through MyKad under the Sara programme.

Anwar said the contribution in conjunction with National Day on Aug 31 was an immediate effort to ease the cost of living burden, besides as an appreciation to the people, benefiting 22 million citizens with an allocation of RM2bil. – Bernama
