No registration required for M’sians to access RM100 cash aid

KUALA LUMPUR: No registration is required for Malaysians to collect the RM100 additional aid announced recently, as the aid is automatically given to all adults with a MyKad, said Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

“No registration or application is required by Malaysian citizens, as the eligibility for the Sara cash aid is automatically based on the data of all adult citizens holding the MyKad.

“MyKad data from the National Registry Department (NRD) will be used for this purpose,” said Amir Hamzah during Minister’s Question Time at the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (July 31).

He also advised Malaysians not to be fooled by any scammers or fraudsters over the RM100 aid.

According to him, the RM100 aid allows a family to receive more aid if they have more family members.

“For example, a family consisting of a husband and wife, and three children above 18-years-old, will receive a total of RM500 and not RM100 per household,” he said.

Amir Hamzah said the RM100 can be spent at over 4,500 registered retail outlets involving over 90,000 daily necessities in 14 categories, such as eggs, rice, medicine, and among others.

“The list of supermarkets and grocery stores is not final and since the Prime Minister’s announcement on July 23, the amount has increased.

“Interested supermarkets or grocery stores that want to participate can contact MyKasih,” he added.

On Wednesday (July 23), the Prime Minister announced several key initiatives as a gesture of appreciation from the government to the people, including a one-off RM100 payment under the Sara programme, a postponement of toll rate hikes for 10 highways and reduced RON95 fuel price to RM1.99 per litre.

The RM100 aid can be used from Aug 31 to Dec 31, 2025.
