Cops probing Form 3 student's fall from third floor of Sabak Bernam hostel


KUALA LUMPUR: The police are investigating an incident where a Form 3 student fell from the third floor of a school's hostel in Sabak Bernam.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed receiving a report on the matter.

"We have opened an investigation under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.

"We will investigate all angles in the case including child safety, hostel management as well as the victim's social background as well as his friends," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 26).

He urged the public not to speculate on the case.

"We will ensure the investigation is conducted transparently and thoroughly," he added.
