Accidental fire tops the list


PETALING JAYA: A decade after one of Malaysia’s deadliest hospital fires at Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Baru, the Fire and Rescue Department has revealed that accidental fires remain the most common cause of hospital blazes.

Its director-general Datuk Seri Nor Hisham Mohammad said statistics compiled by the Fire Investigation Division showed there were 281 incidents of hospital fires reported between 2015 and 2024.
