Remand extended for preacher suspected of RM12.3mil NGO funds abuse

SEREMBAN: A court here has extended the remand of an independent preacher suspected of embezzling funds from a non-governmental organisation (NGO) totalling approximately RM12.3mil.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Negri Sembilan said it received approval to extend the remand until next Friday (May 1) against the suspect by magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli at the Seremban Magistrate's Court here on Sunday.

The application to extend the remand was made after the original remand period for the suspect, who is in his 30s, expired on Sunday.
