CHINESE martial arts star Jet Li has undergone surgery to remove a small benign tumour, major Chinese dailies reported.
The 62-year-old, who was discharged on Monday, shared a photo of himself eating noodles at a shop on social media, assuring fans that he was fine.
“Sorry for making everyone worry,” he wrote.
“I’m out now and having something tasty – daoxiaomian (knife-cut noodles) is the best.”
A day earlier, he had uploaded a picture of himself in a hospital bed, joking that his “hardware had a little problem and was being sent back to the factory for repair”, which sparked concern among fans.
Li, a former wushu champion, rose to fame in Hong Kong cinema for his role as folk hero Wong Fei-hung in the Once Upon a Time in China series, before moving on to Hollywood, where he starred in a string of blockbusters.
> A three-year-old girl drew the attention of hospital-goers in China when she arrived with a knife lodged in her head, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.
The child appeared calm as her mother sought help at the emergency ward of Kunming Dongchuan District People’s Hospital in Yunnan province.
Police said there was no criminal element in the case, noting that the girl’s mother had accidentally caused the injury while changing a bedsheet last Friday.
Reports said the mother had violently shaken the bedsheet, which sent the 10cm knife flying into her daughter’s head.
A surgery was carried out to remove the blade, which had penetrated several centimetres into the skull. The girl is reportedly in stable condition.
