MetMalaysia: Thunderstorm, heavy rain in most states until 6pm today


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned about thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in most parts of the country until 6pm on Thursday (Aug 14).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Johor (Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

The warning was also issued for Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim).

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu and Bachok), Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan and Bera) and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Jempol).
