Investigations into child molestation case involving a Bangladeshi worker still ongoing


KAJANG: Police state that investigations into a recently resurfaced child molestation case here are still ongoing and that claims to the contrary are untrue. 

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said a post by the alleged father of the victim claims that his son’s case has been deemed as "No Further Action." 

“The case is still being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Follow-up actions are currently being undertaken to complete it," said ACP Naazron on Tuesday (Aug 12).

On Feb 27, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a Bangladeshi worker at a convenience store in Kajang. The victim’s 32-year-old father lodged a police report on March 12 after the victim disclosed the incident to her family on March 11.

The case resurfaced recently when the police discovered a video uploaded on Friday (Aug 8), alleging an incident of sexual harassment involving a child, with the footage also showing a man being assaulted.
