SHAH ALAM: Former Sabak Bernam Member of Parliament Datuk Mat Yasir Ikhsan died at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) at 3am on Friday (Aug 6). He was 78.
His son, Azwan Mat Yasir, 45, confirmed the matter in a Facebook post.
Azwan said funeral prayers would be held at Surau Raudhah Al-Muttaqin in Section 4, here, before the burial at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery after Asar prayers.
"Please pray for my late father. May his journey to the barzakh be blessed," he said in the post.
Mat Yasir served as the Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representative for the Sungai Air Tawar state constituency from 1999 to 2004, and as Sabak Bernam MP from 2004 to 2008. -Bernama
