Factory operator killed in car crash in Kluang


KLUANG: A factory operator was killed after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree.

Kluang deputy OCPD Supt Nik Mohd Azmi Husin said the police received information from the public about the accident, which occurred at KM76 Jalan Johor Baru–Ayer Hitam at 8.20 a.m. on Saturday (August 2).

“Preliminary investigation showed the 32-year-old male victim was travelling from Simpang Renggam to Ayer Hitam.

“Upon reaching the area, the victim is believed to have lost control of his vehicle before veering off the road and crashing into a tree on the left,” he said in a statement.

He added that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries to the head and body.

Further investigation is ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said.
