Woman killed after bus driver loses control and crashes into oncoming car in Negri


JEMPOL: A 61-year-old woman car passenger, died after an out-of-control bus rammed into it head-on along KM9 Jalan Bahau-Rompin here.

Jempol OCPD Supt Norhisham Mustafar said the victim was killed on the spot in the 3pm incident.

"Based on preliminary investigation, the 65-year-old bus driver had veered into the opposite lane and crashed into the car.

"The 64-year-old car driver tried to swerve to the right but could not avoid the bus," he said in a statement.

A 13-second clip of the crash has since gone viral.

Supt Norhisham said the deceased was the car driver's wife.

The bus driver and his five passengers escaped unhurt.

He urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Amirul Syafiq Mohd Yusof at 016-234 8669 to assist in investigations.
