Sibu security guard gets 12 years in jail, caning for raping minor


SIBU: A security guard has been sentenced to 12 years in jail by the Sessions Court here after he pleaded guilty to raping a minor.

Judge Musyiri Peet, on Tuesday (July 29), also ordered that the accused Muyang Nyamai,59, a security guard at the Teku Community Clinic, be given two strokes of the cane.

The accused was charged under Section 376(2)(b) of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 376(2) of the same Code

According to the facts of the case, the accused had at about 7.30am on July 16 raped a 14-year old girl underneath the Teku Bridge.

After committing the offences, he gave the victim RM10.

The girl lodged a police report on the same day, leading to the arrest of the accused.
