JEMPOL: Police have seized a hoe believed to have been used by a suspect to bury his murdered six-year-old son in Rompin near here.

Jempol police chief Supt Norhisham Mustapar said the victim was buried at a spot near a railway line and far away from residential areas along Jalan Bahau-Rompin.

"The suspect was believed to have used the hoe to dig a hole to bury the victim.

"However, investigations are still ongoing," he said.

Supt Norhisham said the suspect was still under the custody of Johor police where he is under remand till July 31.

"We will question him further once the suspect is brought back here," he said.

He said the victim's remains have been sent to the Rembau Hospital for post-mortem.

Police discovered the victim's remains on Monday (July 28) evening along the stretch.

Prior to this, Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said police had received a report on the child's disappearance on July 24.

The report was lodged by the boy's father who claimed that his son had gone missing near a kopitiam in Taman Bukit Indah.
