Fahmi: No action against dissenting voices in PKR

SHAH ALAM: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will not take disciplinary action against party members who voiced differing opinions, as they are entitled to express their views, says PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Speaking after a meeting between Anwar and Selangor PKR leaders yesterday, Fahmi said the Prime Minister urged party members to understand the matter and move forward.

“He wants division chiefs and members to grasp the issue and focus on strengthening the party,” he said.

Earlier this month, several PKR MPs led by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli called for a Royal Commission of Inquiry into judicial appointments.

The group included Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Subang MP Wong Chen, Wangsa Maju MP Zahir Hassan, Balik Pulau MP Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail.

Fahmi said Anwar also encouraged inclusivity in appointing divisional committee members, including those who lost in the party elections.

“Those who were not elected must be brought into the fold,” he said.

Fahmi added that chairman appointments for PKR state leadership councils are expected to be finalised by the end of July.

“The president has directed the party machinery to move forward from August onwards,” he said.
