Deputy Comm Mohamed Usuf takes over as acting KL police chief


KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad has officially assumed the role of acting Kuala Lumpur police chief.

The transition took place during a ceremony at the state police headquarters on Friday (July 18), where outgoing police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa handed over the reins.

The event was witnessed by Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance department (JIPS) director Comm Datuk Hamzah Ahmad.

In his speech, Comm Rusdi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead KL police for the past year and three months.

"I am grateful for all the cooperation as we managed to reduce the crime index in Kuala Lumpur. I have no doubt DCP Mohamed Usuf will be able to lead KL police well," he said.

Comm Rusdi will now head to Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) as the new director.
