Haze: Eight areas record unhealthy API readings as of 8am


PETALING JAYA: A total of eight locations recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in the unhealthy category as of 8am on Monday (Oct 5), with Johan Setia in Selangor registering the highest level at 154.

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, four areas in Johor involved Larkin (153), Pasir Gudang (153), Batu Pahat (152), and Segamat (104).

In Negri Sembilan, the affected area involved Nilai (127) while Cheras in Kuala Lumpur recorded 152 and Putrajaya (151).

Meanwhile, 59 areas were in the moderate category, while one area recorded good readings.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and an API exceeding 300 is at a hazardous level.
