KUALA LUMPUR: PKR is looking into calls for nine of its MPs to face disciplinary investigation following their action of holding a press conference to demand the setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the judiciary issue.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the party is also looking into the demand from party members for the nine MPs to be temporarily suspended.
She said an official report on the matter would be tabled at the party’s Central Leadership Council meeting scheduled to be held in two weeks.
“The issue has reached me and I’m aware of it. So now, the secretary-general’s office will look into it and take further action,” she said when contacted by Bernama yesterday.
Fuziah said the report would be studied according to the party’s code of ethics to determine whether their actions violated party rules.
In a press conference on July 7, former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli along with eight other MPs from the party urged the government to establish an RCI and a Parliamentary Special Select Committee regarding judicial appointments.
