PETALING JAYA: Guidelines to manage bullying at Health Ministry facilities will be launched in October, says Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
The Health Minister said it will be launched in conjunction with World Mental Health Day.
It will later be distributed to all Healthy Ministry facilities.
“This will empower existing support systems, including MyHelp KKM. It reflects the ministry’s commitment towards the psychosocial welfare of its workforce,” he said in a statement on Saturday (July 12).
Separately, Dzulkefly said the ministry’s director-general has been ordered to continue finding a solution towards the increased on-call duty allowance for eligible staff.
“We understand the various complexities that arise, mainly in balancing the welfare of workers with the government’s fiscal burden.
“Discussions with stakeholders, including relevant clinical specialists' heads, will continue,” he said.
Dzulkefly had said in April that the ministry had received approval to increase the On-Call Duty Allowance for healthcare workers, with an announcement to be made later.

On the e-Placement system for doctors with the UD10 grade, the Health Minister said the 2,248 medical officers who were offered placements as of July 8 managed to successfully check their placements without any technical difficulties.
He also said the current e-Placement system is improved with a clear timeline and fair appeals process.
“The appeal period is open until July 14 for unsuccessful applicants and those applying for transfers.
“The results will be announced on Aug 19,” he said, adding that the process is monitored closely by the relevant committee.
The old system was cancelled in February owing to technical issues. It had operated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dzulkefly issued this statement in response to criticism against him as Health Minister.
