Gang feud led to Klang murder, say cops

SHAH ALAM: A disagreement between two rival gangs has been identified as the motive behind the murder of a businessman in Taman Meru Utama, Meru, Klang, recently.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said two men have been detained in connection with the case.

“The suspects, aged 25 and 40, were detained in Klang.

“We believe the incident was caused by a disagreement between two rival gangs,” he told reporters at the Selangor police headquarters here yesterday.

The police have recorded the statements of 12 individuals so far, he added.

“It was not a random shooting. It was a coordinated hit.

“We are still investigating what the disagreement was about,” he said.

Investigation is still underway to identify the rest of the gang members, Comm Hussein said.

“The victim was a member of one of the gangs.

“We are still investigating whether the killer was hired or a member of one of the gangs,” he said.

On June 20, a man was shot dead in front of a motorcycle shop in Taman Meru Utama.

The local man, aged 46, was found covered in blood in the driver’s seat of a car.
