Loan sharks target and harass wrong family

A FAMILY in Johor has been targeted and harassed by loan sharks after their address was falsely given by a relative, Makkal Osai reported.

R. Nithiyanandan, 32, from Iskandar Puteri, said he and his wife both work in Singapore, while his mother is staying with them to help care for their one-year-old daughter.

They had lived in their house for six years without any incident, until one of their relatives borrowed some RM7,000 from loan sharks.

The relative had given their address as his own.

Even though the family had nothing to do with the loan, the loan sharks splashed their cars with red paint and are threatening to burn their house down, said Nithiyanandan.

The family have since lodged a police report, put up CCTV cameras and stopped parking their car at the house.

The family is pleading with the authorities to act against the loan sharks and to put an end to their daily nightmare.
