SJK(T) Ladang Sungai Reyla in Perak has received final approval for occupancy 10 years after construction began, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The school in Sungai Siput was built at a cost of RM6.3mil on land donated by the National Land Finance Cooperative Society (NLFCS).
School board chairman S. Shanmugavelu received the official letter of handover from Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh during a ceremony at the school.
Wong said the government will continue working to improve the condition of Tamil schools in the country, with a focus on schools that have submitted requests for new buildings that have been on the back burner.
He also urged all stakeholders associated with the school to work on increasing the number of its students, which stands at 68 currently.
Batu MP and Mitra chairman P. Prabakaran, Sungai Siput MP S. Kesavan, and NLFCS managing director Datuk B. Sahadevan also attended the handover ceremony.
