Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over seven states, KL until 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in seven states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 6pm Thursday (June 5).

In a statement Thursday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Hiir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu, Pahang, and Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat).

In Sarawak, the areas are Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song) and Bintulu (Tatau).
