KUALA LUMPUR: The police are still taking statements from the owner and caretaker of a taska in Danau Kota where a baby died.
Wangsa Maju deputy OCPD Supt Syahrul Anuar Abdul Wahab, at the district police headquarters here, said that the process was ongoing.
“No arrests have been made as of now. The owner of the taska and others will be called in for a statement.
“If there are elements of neglect, then we will make arrests,” he said.
On Monday (May 26), a baby died at the taska in Danau Kota. His cause of death was listed as “asphyxia due to food and milk aspiration”.

On a separate matter, Supt Shahrul said that the anti-gambling operation on Wednesday (May 28) at a commercial building on Jalan Tun Razak revealed that the group was targeting foreign customers.
“We have also identified the owner of the premises,” he said, adding that the police would investigate if the owner was involved in their operations.

During the raid, the police arrested 29 Chinese nationals and one Malaysian.
The group is believed to have been promoting online gambling to Chinese nationals. It is also believed that the group had been operating here for around two months and was led by a still-at-large Chinese national.
