Call centre in Kuala Lumpur office block raided

KUALA LUMPUR: A call centre hidden within an office block was busted after a raid on Wednesday (May 28).

The raid at KL Trillion on Wednesday led to the arrest of 30 suspects aged between 20 and 27.

Of the 30 arrested, only one was Malaysian, while the rest were Chinese nationals.

The operation which targeted this online gambling call centre was conducted under Op Dadu by City police.

The suspects were operating out of a professional-looking office unit with various cubicles.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed the raid when contacted.

The group is believed to have been promoting online gambling to Chinese nationals. It is also believed that the group had been operating here for around two months and was led by a still-at-large Chinese national.
