Man who attacked ex-wife’s lover had prior criminal record, say cops


SUBANG: The man who is suspected of attacking his ex-wife's boyfriend in Puchong had a prior criminal record.

Subang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Fairus Jaafar said the police are still hunting for the suspect and two other accomplices, who brutally attacked the 47-year-old victim.

"We have recorded the statements of three individuals, including the suspect's ex-wife.

"We are in the midst of tracking down all three suspects," he said when contacted on Sunday (May 25).

Supt Mohd Fairus had said the incident occurred at an apartment in Taman Puchong Intan at about 2.15am on Saturday (May 24).

"We received a call from a woman claiming that her boyfriend was attacked at her residence.

"Initial investigations showed that the victim and the woman are living together.

"The woman’s ex-husband and two other men, in their 30s and 40s, came to the house and assaulted the victim using a knife and an iron rod," he added.

The victim suffered various injuries to his head and body, he said.

"He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

"We believe the motive behind the attack was jealousy and unresolved domestic issues between the woman and her ex-spouse," he added.

Supt Mohd Fairusa said the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, a fine, or whipping upon conviction.

"We are in the midst of tracking the suspects.
