JOHOR BARU: Wanita PKR is concerned that some party members still do not fully understand the party’s direction and what it stands for, says its chief Fadhlina Sidek.
She said the party's objective has always been to bring about reform and change.
"Being a leader might seem special to others, but we are always at the crossroads of fear and hope—fear that we are not fair to some and hope that we are fair to others.
"I am also worried that if we are not solid in our principles and understanding of the party’s direction, the rakyat will question us," she said in her winding-up address at the PKR national congress on Saturday (May 24).
Fadhlina, who is also the Education Minister, added that support for the new PKR central leadership council as well as the Youth and Wanita leaders elected on Friday (May 23) must be solid to achieve the party's aspirations.
She also noted that the topics raised by the Wanita wing delegates during its national congress were excellent, addressing issues such as education, the environment, and Malaysia’s projected ageing population by 2030.
