Rafizi Ramli makes late entrance at PKR national congress


JOHOR BARU: Economic Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli nearly missed the start of the PKR national congress as President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived and the event began with the singing of the party song and the state and national anthems.

About 10 minutes later, Rafizi entered to loud "reformasi" shouts from the audience, with some clapping and cheering.

According to unofficial results, Rafizi is said to have failed to defend his post as party deputy president.

PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was scheduled to arrive at 8.30pm, came to the event about 15 minutes earlier than planned and entered the event hall.

Wanita PKR chief Fadhlina Sidek also arrived late, entering just before Rafizi.

Representatives from other Pakatan Harapan component parties were also present at the event.
