Lorry suffered steering failure before crashing into FRU truck, says Zahid


PUTRAJAYA: The lorry involved in the fatal accident involving FRU personnel suffered steering failure before the crash, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"This wouldn't have happened if the lorry went through Puspakom testing," said the Deputy Prime Minister, adding that the business owner should bear responsibility as well.

"Strict checks must be conducted. At the same time, drug checks must also be conducted on drivers," he said at a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office here on Tuesday (May 13).

Transport Minister Anthony Loke also said a special task force would be set up to investigate the cause of the accident.
