Suspect whose wife died after falling from van on Kesas Highway remanded four days


KUALA LUMPUR: A 50-year-old man has been remanded for four days in connection a case where a woman died after falling from a moving van on the Kesas Expressway.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the suspect had been remanded for four days until Saturday (May 10).

"The suspect and his wife were arguing after she used the van despite not having a driving license.

"It is believed the woman fell from the van while it was still moving," he said at a press conference at the police headquarters here on Thursday (May 8).

He said despite what happened to his wife, the suspect went home.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Aidil Bolhassan had said the suspect was arrested at 6pm on Tuesday (May 6) in Taman Kinrara, Puchong.

"He admitted to being involved. He said he and his wife were arguing on their way home," he said.

The suspect also tested positive for drugs and has a prior criminal record.

Witnesses told the police that the 44-year-old victim was thrown out of a moving van around 2.30pm on Tuesday (May 6) on the Kesas Highway near the Awan Besar R&R.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers.
