Decomposed bodies found in Sibu garden house

SIBU: The decomposed bodies of a woman and an infant boy were found in a garden house along Jalan Salim Belalang on Wednesday (May 7) night.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili said the body of a 46-year-old woman was found beside a paved road about 50 metres from the house.

The body of a two-month-old baby boy was discovered in a cradle inside the property.

ACP Zulkipli said the police received information from the public about the discovery at around 8.56pm.

“Preliminary examination revealed that both bodies were in a state of decomposition, suggesting they had died several days earlier,” he said in a statement on Thursday (May 8).

He added that early investigations did not uncover any obvious signs of foul play, and the case is currently being treated as a sudden death report (SDR).

“Nonetheless, the police are continuing detailed investigations to determine the cause of death and the identities and backgrounds of the two deceased,” he added.

Zulkipli urged the public not to speculate in a way that could hinder the investigation.

He called on anyone with relevant information to assist by contacting Investigating Officer Insp Ahmad Hakimi Abd Azid on 011-31873715.
