Discussions on changes in Perikatan's administration should be done internally, says Bersatu Youth

PETALING JAYA: Any discussion on changes in Perikatan Nasional's administration should be done internally and not in public, says Bersatu Youth.

Its information chief Harris Idaham Rashid said the people are bored of power grabs, whether in government or within parties, and are looking for policy ideas which could solve their problems.

"It is good that Perikatan has acknowledged the statement of PAS deputy president and is being given due consideration," said Harris in a statement on Wednesday (May 7).

"Bersatu youth would like to stress that Perikatan should concentrate on the cost of living, education and new trade strategies to cushion the impact of the US tariffs," he said.

Harris said Perikatan should show that it is a political coalition and a "government-in-waiting" with administrative ideas that can inspire confidence.

"Bersatu Youth believes that a progressive and dynamic strategy is needed to ensure Perikatan can expand its influence among all layers of society," he added.

PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man recently announced that Perikatan was planning a leadership reshuffle and is forming a committee to assess the coalition's constitution.

He had said the goal is to implement comprehensive structural improvements to enhance Perikatan's organisational effectiveness.
