Sabah floods: 272 individuals evacuated in Sook


KOTA KINABALU: A total of 272 individuals from 87 families were evacuated at 8pm on Friday (May 2) due to the flood disaster in Sook.

The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that 203 people from 64 families were evacuated to the temporary relief centre at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan Keningau 2 hall.

According to a statement, 69 people from 23 families were evacuated to another centre at Balai Raya Kampung Molosok Dalit.

"Four villages were affected by the floods in Sook," the statement said on Friday.

Sook is a district in the interior of Sabah located 147 kilometres south of Kota Kinabalu. – Bernama
